Key Responsibilities

As the Medical Education Coordinator, you will be expected to strategically guide the team in fostering the development and upkeep of high-quality clinical placements that align with the standards set by relevant governing bodies. Your efforts will ensure that all learners receive an outstanding and innovative educational experience.

We seek individuals who exhibit a genuine enthusiasm for education, possessing significant post-qualification experience that reflects both clinical and educational expertise. In collaboration with the Head of Education (Practice Learning), you will oversee the delivery of undergraduate medical education services throughout the Trust. This includes the planning, execution, and assessment of teaching and learning activities, as well as training programs for medical students, physician associates, and other advanced practice roles.

Your role will also involve providing senior management support to undergraduate specialty leads, phase leads, teaching fellows, specialist foundation doctors, administrative staff, and the broader undergraduate faculty. Together, you will develop, manage, and deliver a diverse range of high-quality and cost-effective undergraduate educational offerings that meet the standards established by NHS England, Medical Schools, and the GMC.

Experience

Essential

  • A minimum of 3 years of post-registration experience
  • Experience in an educational setting (mentorship, practice supervision, assessment of students in practice)
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience of mentor/student assessment processes

Qualifications

  • Recognized healthcare professional qualification
  • Registration with NMC/HCPC
  • Evidence of a degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience
  • Recognized qualification related to teaching or supporting learners in practice or equivalent experience
