You will assist patients in accessing the appropriate services or healthcare professionals and perform various administrative duties to ensure the practice operates smoothly, adhering to established procedures and timelines.

Job Duties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling appointments and home visits according to practice guidelines.
  • Registering patients and managing their information in our systems as they arrive.
  • Addressing inquiries and requests from various sources, including patients and healthcare professionals, both in person and over the phone.
  • Handling challenging situations with patients in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Prioritizing urgent medical cases and directing them to the appropriate clinical response.
  • Managing emergency requests and following protocols as necessary.
  • Maintaining a tidy and organized waiting area while keeping patients informed of any delays.
  • Following up on hospital appointments and test results, acting on messages from the medical team.
  • Processing urgent results and communicating with patients as needed.
  • Ensuring the security of the practice premises and managing the telephone system.
  • Performing general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and responding to correspondence.
  • Assisting with patient complaints and ensuring they are addressed appropriately.
  • Updating patient records and managing new registrations.
  • Advising patients on private service charges and processing payments.
  • Supporting the overall operations of the practice and fostering a positive environment for patients and visitors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer use and keyboarding.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and enthusiasm.
