Symphony Healthcare Services Limited is seeking a dedicated Patient Services Advisor (Receptionist/Administrator) to contribute to our operations for 36 hours weekly on a permanent contract.
Compensation is competitive, with a range based on experience, alongside NHS or NEST pension options.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage appointment scheduling and home visit requests in accordance with established protocols, including inter-organizational bookings.
- Register patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate data entry into the system.
- Address inquiries and requests from various stakeholders, including patients, relatives, and clinical staff, both in person and via telephone.
- Handle challenging situations with distressed or aggressive patients professionally and safely.
- Prioritize urgent cases and direct patients to the appropriate clinical resources.
- Process emergency call requests from patients and GPs, adhering to established protocols.
- Maintain a tidy and organized waiting area, keeping patients informed of any delays.
- Follow up on hospital appointments and test results, acting on messages from the medical team.
- Manage specimen samples and ensure compliance with practice policies.
- Open and secure practice premises, maintaining safety protocols.
- Conduct general administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and handling correspondence.
- Address patient complaints and escalate issues to the Practice Manager as necessary.
- Support the induction and training of new staff as directed.
- Provide assistance with patient queries regarding prescriptions and services.
Contact Hub Responsibilities
- Deliver patient service support to incoming calls, including triage questionnaire completion and appointment booking.
- Manage general patient inquiries and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with the Hub Clinical team for immediate clinical decisions.
- Ensure patient satisfaction through accurate and timely communication.
- Monitor and manage the contact hub's email correspondence.
Candidate Profile
Essential Skills
- Proficient in computer usage and typing.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology and NHS operations.

Qualifications
Required
- GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
