About the Role

Situated within the Information Systems and Identity and Access Management (IS and IDAM) division, the IDAM Technical Services Lead will oversee a team of IDAM Analysts and Engineers. This role encompasses resource planning, work scheduling, progress monitoring against timelines, proactive incident management, and addressing stakeholder inquiries. The primary objectives include ensuring service stability, rapid incident resolution, and continuous service enhancement to deliver optimal value to the University.

IDAM Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on identity and access management technologies and broader IDAM challenges to senior management, IDAM Analysts/Engineers, and external partners.
  • Promote and facilitate the adoption of IDAM industry standards within IT Services and the broader University framework. Collaborate with the team to define, communicate, and implement IDAM strategies and methodologies.
  • Lead the planning, development, delivery, and maintenance of IDAM technologies, including the implementation of IDAM tools. Collaborate with other IT teams to achieve shared objectives and manage change delivery for IDAM components.
  • Maintain project roadmaps, schedules, and oversee IT maintenance and installation tasks, including significant configuration changes and upgrades. Engage with other IT teams, key business stakeholders, and external vendors as necessary, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.
  • Ensure that procedures and operational practices are effective and up-to-date. Responsible for identifying, documenting, monitoring, and resolving incidents and problems. Provide relevant status updates and reports to specialists, users, and management.
Person Specification
  • Extensive experience in leading technical teams and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Strong technical foundation with significant experience across various technologies, particularly in delivering, developing, and managing IDAM tools.
  • Proven experience in providing technical insights on strategic, large-scale security and identity and access management initiatives.
  • Familiarity with IDAM tools and principles (e.g., SSO, federation, MFA, OpenLDAP, Shibboleth, Active Directory, identity lifecycle management, authentication and authorization systems, Open Enterprise Server (OES), netIQ eDirectory, netIQ Identity Manager (IDM), RBAC, PAM, risk-based authentication, access reviews, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with key stakeholders to understand business and technical needs, manage expectations, and keep them informed of progress.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with a passion for promoting technical excellence.
  • Desirable qualifications include ITIL V4, CISM, CISSP.
Salary / Package

This senior position offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, along with 29 days of annual leave (plus 4 closure days during the holiday season and 8 public holidays), flexible working arrangements (minimum two days in the office), and an attractive pension scheme with substantial employer contributions.
