Job Role: Children's Support Worker

As a Children's Support Worker, you will work closely with children in care, prioritizing their needs and well-being in all aspects of their lives. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children in educational pursuits, hobbies, and activities
  • Developing and contributing to positive outcomes that shape the future of children and young people

You will be highly motivated, committed, and genuinely interested in delivering exceptional care for children and young adults. With Nurseplus, you will work across various settings, including Mental Health, Autism, Challenging behavior, Education, and Residential.

Responsibilities

As a Children's Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting, safeguarding, and promoting the well-being of children and young people
  • Assisting with daily routines, including community and educational settings
  • Organizing and facilitating social activities
  • Transportation
  • Working alongside a multi-disciplinary team to implement safe practice
  • Offering high levels of supervision and support
  • Working in line with Ofsted and CQC regulations
  • Managing complex behaviors and crisis intervention
  • Contributing to the young person's care plans and risk assessments, reviews, and implementation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working in a child and/or young adult setting (desirable)
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Child & Young People's Workforce (CYP) (desirable)
  • To be over the age of 21 to meet industry regulations
  • Knowledge in one of the following areas: EBD, SEMH, CSE, or SEN/SEND
  • An enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration (cost of £45.40, refunded after a set period of work)
  • A Full UK Driving License (desirable)
