About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for the young people.
  • Mentor and support newer staff members, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Encourage the young people to take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age, and promote their independence and well-being.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours in a safe and sympathetic manner, protecting the young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is also essential.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People is required.
