We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children's home in Exeter. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate will be committed, motivated, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. They will be able to work in a busy, ever-changing environment and provide a safe and caring atmosphere for the young people.

The role involves leading by example, mentoring and supporting newer staff members, and encouraging the young people to take responsibility for their own lives. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining a safe environment, protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare, and promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a safe environment
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Promote independence and well-being

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is essential
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
