Key Requirements:
- A valid UK Driving Licence and access to a dependable vehicle are mandatory.
- Please note that we are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
Work Schedule:
- The position entails a commitment of 48 hours per week, following a 2 on 4 off rolling rota. Flexibility in scheduling is not currently available.
Compensation:
- £29,775 for candidates without a Level 3/4 NVQ in Residential Childcare.
- £31,752 for those holding a Level 3/4 NVQ in Residential Childcare.

Role Overview:
As a Supported Living Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting young people in their journey from care to independence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical, personal, social, and financial support to young adults, helping them build confidence and become active members of their community.
- Documenting weekly and monthly reports, support plans, and risk assessments using our online system to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Identifying potential risks and collaborating with the team to implement safety measures for the young people.
- Encouraging young adults to pursue educational opportunities or take initial steps towards employment.
- Maintaining a clean and welcoming living environment.
- Facilitating access to affordable and engaging activities within the community.
- Utilizing creative methods to enhance young people's development and aspirations through personalized key work sessions.
- Coordinating with external agencies and professionals as necessary.
- Upholding policies and procedures to safeguard young individuals from harm.
- Effectively managing challenging behaviors and situations.
Building friendships can be challenging for the young people we support, making it essential for you to promote and plan meaningful activities. This may involve assisting individuals in exploring hobbies, engaging in community groups, or learning new life skills.
Essential Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with young people and partner organizations.
- Experience working with young individuals or managing challenging behaviors in various capacities.
- Excellent organizational skills to adapt to the needs of young people.
- Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with Outlook, online systems, Excel, Word, and mobile devices.
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by young people transitioning from care.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Willingness to undertake sleep-in shifts and work flexibly as part of a rota.
- Competence in maintaining accurate records and providing written reports for planning meetings and reviews.
- Desirable but not essential: QCF Level 3 in children's residential care or equivalent.
- A full, clean UK driving license is required.
- Willingness to obtain business insurance for transport when necessary.
Important Information:
This role is subject to a successful enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks. Additionally, applicants must declare any relevant convictions as outlined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
