Cardiac Department Administrator

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and organized Administrator to join our team within the Cardiac department at Spire Bushey Hospital. As an Administrator, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient administration services, ensuring the smooth operation of our radiology department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient patient administration services, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Spire and other insurers' products, policies, and initiatives.
- Liaise with pre-authorisation teams and medical insurers to ensure funding is agreed prior to patient admission.
- Respond to patient and consultant enquiries in a timely and courteous manner, maintaining accurate records of communication.
- Maintain departmental electronic and manual filing systems accurately.
- Provide advice on medical coding to ensure hospital and consultant charges align with insurer guidelines.
- Process patient referrals and associated documentation, confirming details with patients and consultants as necessary.
- Liaise closely with patients, consultants, and clinical teams regarding special requirements or individual requests.
- Practice and maintain confidentiality at all times, exercising discretion when handling patient, consultant, and staff information.
- Provide and receive patient information, adhering to the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
- Undertake training and development to acquire skills and knowledge necessary for the role.
Requirements
- Highly organized and able to manage workload effectively.
- Experience in an administrative position or similar environment is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
- Team player with confidence in interacting with diverse individuals.
