Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team within the Imaging Department at Spire Bushey Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient administration services, ensuring the smooth operation of our radiology department, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the multi-disciplinary team in providing exemplary patient administration services, including efficient bookings and accurate completion of audit materials.
- Provide information to patients, consultants, and other relevant departments in a timely and courteous manner.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Spire and other insurers' products, policies, and initiatives.
- Liaise with pre-authorisation teams and medical insurers to ensure funding is agreed prior to patient admission.
- Respond to patient and consultant enquiries in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining accurate records of communication.
- Maintain departmental electronic and manual filing systems accurately.
- Provide advice on medical coding to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Process patient referrals and associated documentation, confirming details with patients and consultants as necessary.
- Liaise closely with patients, consultants, and clinical teams to address special requirements and individual requests.
- Practice confidentiality and discretion in handling patient and consultant information.
- Undertake training and development to acquire skills and knowledge necessary for the role.
Requirements:
- Highly organized and able to manage workload effectively.
- Experience in an administrative role or similar environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact with diverse individuals.
