About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Handler to join our team at Howden Insurance Brokers Ltd. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of motor insurance claims on an end-to-end basis, providing excellent customer service and ensuring that all claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of motor insurance claims, ensuring that all claims are handled in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to policyholders, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Claims Manager to ensure that all claims are handled in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all claims are handled in a fair and transparent manner, with all relevant parties being kept informed of progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims, including correspondence and documentation.
  • Identify and respond to any potential issues or concerns, escalating them to the Claims Manager as necessary.
  • Ensure that all claims are handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and other relevant data protection legislation.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a claims handling role, preferably in the motor insurance sector.
  • Strong knowledge of motor insurance policies and procedures, including the handling of claims and the management of claims portfolios.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with policyholders and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple claims simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and respond to potential issues or concerns.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) and a Cert CII (desirable).
