Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Management Office Lead to join our team at the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology. As a key member of our Programme Management Office, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assurance and reporting services to support the programme's objectives and governance requirements.
  • Develop and lead effective reporting and assurance processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports and insights.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the programme and departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Manage briefing and reporting documents, ensuring accurate record keeping and timely delivery.
  • Undertake accurate reporting minutes and notes, including managing and tracking follow-up actions for programme meetings.
  • Provide advice and support to the Head of the Programme Management Office, preparing and presenting insights and progress reporting information.

Requirements

  • Experience working within complex and large-scale transformation programmes, with a background in Programme/Project environment or PMO experience, particularly in Assurance and Reporting.
  • Ability to assimilate and analyse information and data from various sources, with excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • High level of English and IT literacy, including knowledge of office applications such as PowerPoint, Excel, and other reporting applications.
  • Effective communication and engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple work activities and change priorities quickly as required.

Desirable Qualifications

  • P3O (Portfolio, Programme, Project Office) or Prince2 Practitioner qualification.
  • Experience of working in a shared service environment, particularly in Corporate Services, such as HR, Finance, Procurement, or Digital.
