Position Overview
Lifelancer is seeking a dedicated individual to join our editorial team as an Associate/Senior Editor specializing in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. This role is integral to our mission of disseminating high-quality scientific research through our platform. We are looking for someone with a robust academic background in electrical engineering, who possesses a keen analytical mindset and a broad interest in the scientific landscape beyond their primary field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the review and publication of original research articles.
  • Collaborating with fellow editors throughout the editorial workflow, including manuscript evaluation and peer review management.
  • Making informed editorial judgments based on expert feedback.
  • Defining the scope and representation of electrical engineering topics within our publications.
  • Engaging with editors from other journals and connecting with experts in the global scientific community.
  • Participating in conferences and visiting research facilities to foster relationships and stay updated on advancements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A PhD or equivalent experience in electrical and electronic engineering or related disciplines, such as power systems, energy management, or telecommunications.
  • Familiarity with computational techniques and machine learning is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Postdoctoral experience is preferred, though not essential.
  • A solid grasp of the fundamental principles in the field is crucial.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for science and engineering, coupled with a desire for continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with a wide range of scientific research topics, both within and outside of electrical engineering.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Capability to critically evaluate research submissions from diverse areas within the discipline.
  • Willingness to travel to meet scientists globally and enhance mutual understanding regarding publication expectations.
  • While prior editorial experience is not a requirement, candidates with substantial editorial backgrounds are encouraged to apply for potential Senior Editor roles.
