Job Description

Job Title: Chief Travel Editor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Travel Editor to join our team at RELX. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and launching an online-only gold open access journal for The Lancet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the editorial strategy for The Lancet Primary Care
  • Manage the day-to-day editorial handling of papers and peer-review
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our global primary care community to attract high-quality research for the journal
  • Attend conferences and events to represent the journal and stay up-to-date with current developments in primary care
  • Write editorials and other content for the journal as required
  • Contribute to the development of new initiatives for the journal's future growth and development
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive the journal's success

Requirements:

  • A Medical Degree in a relevant discipline or a PhD in a related subject field with postdoctoral research experience
  • Thorough knowledge of biological and medical sciences, and broader social issues pertaining to Primary care
  • Ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with external stakeholders, including medical and research professionals, internal teams, and members of the media
  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner
  • Proficient with IT systems, including MS Office
