We are seeking a highly skilled Editor or Senior Editor to join our team at Inspired Selection, a leading publishing recruitment specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing titles through the editorial process and assisting the Commissioning team as required.
The ideal candidate will have some proven editorial experience in book publishing, alongside an interest in or knowledge of the Education space, and thus the ability to understand teacher and learner needs. Good prioritisation and organisation skills, alongside excellent attention to detail and communication skills, are all a must.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Project manage titles across a broad range of educational products, from teaching resources and professional development books to illustrated fiction, children's poetry, and home learning books.
- Guide individual titles through the editorial process, including development editing and copyediting new manuscripts independently or alongside project editors/commissioning editors.
- Organise and assist with the writing of AIs (advance information sheets), catalogue copy, and book fair materials.
- Write back cover copy and support desk editors and commissioning editors.
- Liaise with sales, production, design, marketing, and editors to ensure that sales materials are produced on time.
- Proofread and liaise with authors.
