Wood is seeking Expressions of Interest from qualified Commercial Advisors. Please note that this is not an active position at this time.

With a robust growth strategy, Wood is engaged in numerous exciting and challenging projects within its Operations EMEA sector, leading to various dynamic opportunities within the Commercial function. The commercial team is committed to ensuring excellence in contractual and commercial management by upholding Wood's Financial Management Framework in all its facets.

The role of Commercial Advisor is pivotal within a project team, and we are in search of a proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual to join us and advance their career with Wood.

Vision of the Commercial Function: Achieving returns, managing risks, and maximizing opportunities.

  • As Wood continues to expand and diversify to meet the challenges of a constantly evolving world, the commercial function plays a crucial role in ensuring we realize our full potential, capture the value we generate, and receive appropriate recognition from our clients.
  • To accomplish this, we challenge conventional methods and seek innovative approaches, embracing change while confidently managing risks. Central to our operations is the application of sound commercial judgment and governance, for which we are well-regarded.

Key Objectives:

  • Enhance commercial performance while managing business/project risks (both pre and post-contract).
  • Commercialization of service offerings from a sub-Business Group to support growth and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant commercial and contracting policies.
  • Address disputes, claims, and cash collection challenges.
  • Embed effective commercial governance and assurance across the sub-Business Group, Project, and Portfolio of Projects.
  • Support the tender governance process for the sub-Business Group.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, along with a relevant professional qualification (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience in a comparable role.
  • Strong understanding and experience in commercial administration and procedures.
  • Proficiency in drafting and interpreting commercial documentation.
