Role Purpose:
The Senior Commercial Advisor plays a pivotal role within project teams, and we are in search of a proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual eager to advance their career with Wood.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Senior Commercial Advisor include:
- Encouraging safe working practices within the commercial team.
- Overseeing post-award administration tasks, including ensuring accurate contract setup in the relevant business systems, timely and precise invoice preparation reflecting full contract entitlements, and clarity on commercial models and delivery scopes for the contract management team.
- Documenting change management through contract variations and maintaining comprehensive commercial administration records.
- Negotiating and managing client incentive programs.
- Delivering essential commercial outputs, including margin enhancement strategies and cash flow improvement plans.
- Acting as the primary contact for risk register management.
- Ensuring project adherence to financial Delegation of Authority.
- Regularly interfacing with clients.
- Leading and providing commercial guidance to project teams to ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Preparing monthly commercial management reports and contributing to monthly Contract Performance Reviews.
- Supporting the governance and execution of the Financial Management Framework within assigned projects.
- Collaborating with various internal stakeholders regarding commercial management, risk assessments, corporate reporting, and contractual negotiations.
- Assisting in the negotiation of Terms and Conditions with clients and suppliers.
- Engaging with internal teams (Contract/Project Managers, Engineers) on all aspects of commercial management, problem resolution, and client disputes.
- Mentoring and developing junior commercial staff.
- Enhancing project delivery while mitigating any potential risks or commercial liabilities for Wood.
- Contributing directly to value creation and commercial benefits for both Wood and its clients.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Commercial Advisor position should possess strong communication skills and a commitment to upholding Wood's core values and commercial practices in an ethical manner. Extensive knowledge and experience in commercial administration processes are essential.
