Companion Volunteer for Community Engagement

Location: Maidstone

Time Commitment: 3-4 hours per week

As a Companion Volunteer, you will significantly contribute to the well-being of individuals requiring social interaction. We seek a compassionate person to assist someone with visual impairments in enjoying various outings. This could involve leisurely walks, dining experiences, or accompanying them to organized events such as equestrian activities or shopping trips. You will find this role both fulfilling and enjoyable.

An introductory phase will allow you to establish a rapport with the individual you will be supporting, fostering trust and understanding. Our dedicated team in Maidstone possesses extensive experience and will guide you throughout this initial period.

  • Ability to handle information in accordance with our data protection and confidentiality protocols
  • Capability to assist with orientation and sighted guiding when necessary
Please note that applicants must be over the age of 18 to qualify for this position. To express your interest, please complete the application form provided. To ensure the safety of those we support, a DBS check and two satisfactory references will be required prior to confirming your volunteer role. Additionally, as you will be working directly with vulnerable individuals, you will need to complete safeguarding training, along with any role-specific training. About Us
