Position Overview

As a Risk Governance Advisor, you will join a dedicated team focused on delivering comprehensive risk governance solutions within the Retail sector. Your role will encompass the development and execution of clear and impactful risk and process management reports. You will engage with stakeholders, manage multiple priorities, and provide consultancy on all aspects of risk governance, supporting the complete product lifecycle.

This position is situated within the Retail Risk division, which plays a crucial role in empowering our members to manage their finances effectively, ensuring that everyday banking, saving, and borrowing are seamless experiences.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert in Risk Governance, providing consistent guidance, best practices, and the assessment and implementation of lessons learned. Your focus will be on the ongoing enhancement of our risk management committee and governance processes across Retail.

You will assist the Retail Risk Director by offering a full secretariat service for the Retail Risk Committee and the Product & Service Approval Forum (PSAF). This includes tracking and reporting on functional issues, overseeing the governance of the Senior Manager & Certification regime for those with regulatory responsibilities, and providing expertise across various risk governance activities as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Deep understanding of risk governance with practical experience in managing secretariat services for senior governance meetings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with a high level of competency.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail in delivering high-quality work outputs.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, capable of summarizing key discussion points across diverse topics.
  • Adept at identifying themes and documenting them in insightful reports.
  • Strong grasp of committee and corporate governance principles.
  • Experience in Risk and/or Governance or closely related fields, with a solid understanding of the Retail function.
  • Ability to network effectively within and beyond the function.
  • Familiarity with the FCA's Senior Managers & Certification Regime and related regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in producing insightful reporting.
