Job Summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Pathology Section Manager. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead the Cellular Pathology service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to patients across the region.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a culture of continuous improvement, driving excellence in quality management and patient care.
  • Lead the Histopathology laboratories to maintain UKAS accreditation to ISO 15189 and HTA standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate the discipline Quality Management system, including audits, document review, and control.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain HTA accreditation and ensure the use of the Quality Management System by all staff.
About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover secondment, providing an opportunity for a talented individual to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact on the service. The successful candidate will be part of a passionate and talented team, with access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities.

Requirements
  • Relevant MSc or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in quality management, laboratory leadership, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of UKAS accreditation and HTA standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
