Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Training Section Manager to join our Cellular Pathology team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering all aspects of our departmental training program.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in histopathology and a proven track record of training and development. You will be responsible for coordinating training programs, developing and maintaining external links with training providers, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance schemes. You will also be responsible for managing the propagation and maintenance of laboratory aspects of ISO/CPA standards and MHRA requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate discipline training program, including CBTR's, competency assessments, generic and specialist portfolios, and other formal qualifications.
  • Facilitate compliance to PDR's and mandatory training in conjunction with performance section manager.
  • Develop and maintain external links with training providers universities.
  • Attend external training/meetings and incorporate learning into Network service improvements.
  • Organise, prepare and deliver formal training sessions for staff in discipline.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in histopathology and a proven track record of training and development. You will also have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure. A completion of IBMS Specialist Diploma or equivalent is required, and a level 7 qualification (MSc. IBMS HSD or equivalent) is essential for a Band 7 Section Manager post.
