Position Overview
The University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Manager for our Virology and Molecular Operations. This pivotal role is situated within the expansive Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS), a well-established Pathology Network in the South Midlands, encompassing two primary locations.
The Virology and Molecular Pathology services (VAMP) department is a multidisciplinary unit responsible for the effective operational delivery of infectious disease testing and genomics testing across Blood Sciences and Cellular Pathology. Our department operates continuously to meet the needs of our patients.
As the Manager of the Performance Section, you will oversee the monitoring and management of operational, quality, and financial performance metrics within the Virology and Molecular service. You will lead departmental improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing key performance indicators (KPIs).
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the ongoing modernization of laboratory equipment and services.
- Engage in the transformation of service delivery as part of the management team.
- Effectively manage KPIs, including turnaround times, staff performance, and compliance with mandatory training.
- Analyze and interpret data for operational reviews and meetings.
- Plan and coordinate departmental work schedules, including staff rotas and annual leave.
- Ensure the technical performance of tests and equipment is maintained.
