We are seeking two exceptional researchers to join our academic team at the University of Warwick. As a Research Scientist, you will contribute to our world-leading research in plant and agricultural science, spanning fundamental plant biology through to translational science.

Our School has a strong track record of high-impact research, grant-funding success, and a research culture that nurtures early career researchers. You will be expected to have original research programmes and to have demonstrated eagerness to translate your expertise to address challenges in discovery-led biological rules-of-life, or problems in food and nutritional security.

As an Academic Researcher, you will be part of a vibrant, high-achieving community of undergraduate and postgraduate students, delivering high-quality teaching using a blend of traditional and innovative teaching methods. You must be able to demonstrate proven track records in publication and competitive strategies for generating research income.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in plant science, with a focus on biotic or abiotic stress, plant physiology, and adaptation. You will also need to have experience in translating your expertise to address challenges in discovery-led biological rules-of-life, or problems in food and nutritional security.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in working on virology and entomology at the lab and/or field scale or in natural ecosystems. You will be expected to have a proven track record of securing research funding and to be able to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

As a Principal Investigator, you will be responsible for leading your own research programme and for mentoring early career researchers. You will need to have a strong track record of publication and to be able to demonstrate your ability to secure research funding.
