Role Overview

If you aspire to expand your industry knowledge and advance your career in project management, our Northeast team is in search of seasoned Project Managers eager to elevate their careers to a senior level. You will work on a variety of leading infrastructure initiatives, and we will assist you in identifying the ideal position within our client sectors, including transportation, utilities, and highways.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

  • To oversee Project Management Commissions, ensuring comprehensive service delivery, particularly for large or intricate projects.
  • To serve as the primary daily client liaison, guaranteeing that client goals are achieved and that projects are completed within budget and time constraints while meeting quality standards.

ROLE SCOPE

Senior Project Managers manage commissions of varying scales, contingent on project complexity. Typically, projects range from £10m to £25m. However, for advisory services, such as urban regeneration funding consultations, the overall project scale may be significantly larger.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project management responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic advice during the project initiation phase, including guidance on various methodologies to successfully meet the client's overarching objectives.
  • Defining and maintaining project requirements.
  • Establishing the overall success criteria for the project, encompassing time, cost, technical, and performance metrics.
  • Implementing effective project governance, processes, and systems throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Developing and maintaining activity schedules, including the creation of the master project plan.
  • Managing project development in accordance with approved plans and objectives.
  • Formulating and executing resource plans and procuring necessary resources.
  • Leading and coordinating the cross-functional project team.
  • Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including the use of KPIs to enhance project outcomes.
  • Overseeing the change control process.
  • Developing and approving budgets while managing forecast and actual costs.
  • Facilitating the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Identifying and assessing project risks and planning and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing formal project progress reports and other documentation.
  • Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client, other consultants, and managing stakeholders throughout all project phases.
  • Advising the client on Health & Safety and Environmental concerns and risks.
  • Planning for and managing quality, safety, health, and environmental issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a complex stakeholder environment is preferred.
  • NEC3: ECC Project Manager accreditation is advantageous.
  • Chartered or qualified status with ICE, APM, RICS, etc., is preferred.
  • A degree in a construction-related field is ideal.
