Due to increasing demand and our strategic growth plans, Turner & Townsend is seeking to hire Estimators and Senior Estimators with demonstrated expertise in the Infrastructure sector, including Rail, Highways, Power, Marine, Water, or Utilities.
The North East & Yorkshire region has successfully secured several long-term projects, supporting a diverse array of significant programs and portfolios. We offer flexibility in location, with opportunities available across our offices in the region.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering value to our clients by serving as an integrated resource within their teams or through various assignments for multiple clients in the Infrastructure sector as part of the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub. While our primary focus is on regional clients, our Estimators may also have the chance to work remotely on estimating tasks for clients both nationally and internationally, as needed.
Our team provides a comprehensive range of Estimating and Commercial Intelligence services to aid our clients' decision-making processes, including:
- Production of Estimates (from preliminary estimates to detailed cost breakdowns);
- Assurance of Estimating Accuracy;
- Support for Major Programme Initiatives;
- Data Analysis and Benchmarking.
As an Estimator at Turner & Townsend, your responsibilities will include:
- Creating precise and thorough estimates and cost plans for projects efficiently;
- Managing the estimating process at the project level;
- Producing estimates independently;
- Assisting in the collection and dissemination of estimating data;
- Promoting best practices in estimating within Turner & Townsend;
- Contributing to the achievement of departmental goals;
- Keeping updated on advancements in your area of expertise to provide informed advice aligned with business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High-level qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience;
- Proven experience in providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project context;
- Familiarity with estimating software applications;
- Membership in a relevant professional organization with chartered status or in progress;
- Preferred membership in RICS / CIOB / A. Cost E.
