Due to ongoing demand and our growth ambitions, Turner & Townsend is seeking to hire Estimators and Senior Estimators with demonstrated expertise in the Infrastructure sector, including Rail, Highways, Power, Marine, Water, or Utilities.

The North East & Yorkshire region has successfully secured several long-term contracts supporting a diverse array of major programs and project portfolios. We offer flexibility in location, with opportunities available across the region, including our offices in Newcastle, Teesside, Sheffield, and Leeds.

In this role, you will make a difference for our clients by acting as an integrated resource within their organization or by providing ad-hoc support for various clients in the Infrastructure sector as part of the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub. While our work primarily focuses on regionally based clients, our Estimators may also have the chance to work remotely (within the region) on estimating tasks for clients both nationally and internationally as workload permits.

Our team delivers a comprehensive range of Estimating and Commercial Intelligence services to aid our clients' decision-making processes, including:

  • Production of Estimates (from Order of Magnitude estimates to detailed estimates developed from first principles);
  • Estimating Assurance;
  • Estimating Support for Major Program Initiatives;
  • Data Analysis and Benchmarking.

As an Estimator at Turner & Townsend, your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating precise and thorough estimates and cost plans for projects efficiently and promptly;
  • Overseeing and managing the estimating process at the project level;
  • Producing estimates independently;
  • Assisting in the collection and dissemination of estimating data;
  • Promoting and supporting the development of best practices in estimating within Turner & Townsend;
  • Contributing to the achievement of departmental goals;
  • Keeping up-to-date with advancements in your technical area of expertise to provide best practice guidance aligned with business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Highly qualified in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience;
  • Proven experience in delivering estimating and/or QS services in a large project context;
  • Familiarity with estimating software applications;
  • Membership in a relevant professional organization with chartered status or working towards it;
  • Preferred membership of RICS / CIOB / A. Cost E.
