Role Overview: The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for curating product collections and their presentation in alignment with the established product strategy, brand ethos, and store values. The objective is to ensure that the collections accurately reflect the intended image and value propositions.

Company Profile: This is an exciting opportunity to join a prominent multi-channel retailer known for its diverse offerings, including women's, men's, and home products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop product collections and their presentation in accordance with the defined product strategy, brand identity, and store values.
  • Utilize historical data and market trends to strategize and implement product plans in collaboration with the Merchandiser, aiming to achieve set sales and margin targets.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Manager to execute the strategy for margin enhancement while ensuring supply security and comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Lead the product development strategy, ensuring timely progress on sampling, fabric selection, and pricing in line with critical deadlines.
  • Oversee the completion of range plans, product briefs, design specifications, fabric selections, fit sessions, and color approvals, ensuring all elements are finalized within the critical path.
  • Communicate any necessary amendments to the aforementioned elements effectively to all relevant parties.
  • Work alongside Design, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing teams to ensure cohesive planning and execution of visual merchandising strategies, including window displays and photography.
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of product performance and market trends to optimize sales and margins, taking appropriate actions as needed.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape through regular market analysis and store visits.
  • Where applicable, manage and develop supplier relationships to enhance product offerings.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they have structured training and development plans.
  • Manage expenses in accordance with established budgets and guidelines.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will be either an experienced Junior Buyer or a Buyer with a background in Product Development. Strong negotiation skills are essential.
