Role Overview

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in sourcing essential components for production and maintenance requirements. You will be responsible for fostering relationships with key suppliers while ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor MRP system data daily and take appropriate actions based on established stock levels.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through new supplier agreements and implement strategies to enhance pricing and order processes.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders as necessary.
  • Escalate any issues promptly to minimize impact on production schedules.
  • Conduct benchmarking and negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal value for materials.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record in building stakeholder relationships with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage costs effectively and achieve budget targets.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the capability to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
  • Desirable: CIPS qualification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Technical understanding of engineering principles.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: Competitive, ranging from £35,000 to £38,000, with potential for negotiation based on experience.

Bonus: Participation in an annual group bonus scheme.

Benefits: 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, onsite parking, and death in service coverage.

Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
