Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop product assortments and presentations that align with the established product strategy, brand identity, and store values, ensuring that the offerings reflect the desired image and value proposition.
  • Utilize historical data and market trends to strategize and execute product plans in collaboration with the Merchandiser, aiming to achieve set sales and profit targets.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing Manager to implement strategies for margin enhancement while ensuring supply chain security and comprehensive risk assessments.
  • Lead the product development strategy, coordinating cross-functionally to ensure timely progress on sampling, fabric selection, and pricing in accordance with project timelines.
  • Ensure that all aspects of product planning, including range plans, design briefs, and fit sessions, are completed on schedule and communicated effectively.
  • Maintain ongoing communication regarding any changes to the product development process, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
  • Work alongside Design, Visual Merchandising, and Marketing teams to effectively plan and execute visual merchandising strategies, including window displays and promotional materials.
  • Conduct continuous evaluations of product performance and market trends to optimize sales and profitability, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the retail landscape, including competitor analysis and market opportunities, through regular store visits and research.
  • Where applicable, manage and enhance relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective evaluation and development.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring they have structured training and development plans.
  • Oversee budget management to ensure alignment with financial guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role within the apparel industry.
  • Experience specifically in womenswear.
  • Familiarity with a comparable retail environment and customer base.
