About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Governance Specialist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a key member of our Radiology department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide governance advice and support to the Radiology management team, ensuring that systems and structures are in place to demonstrate compliance and assurance of required standards.
  • Ensure effective and responsive administration in the care group governance agenda, providing regular reports on governance activity to the care group and division.
  • Identify, communicate, and escalate themes to ensure appropriate action is taken in response to patient safety events and patient feedback, and that learning from incidents is recorded and cascaded as appropriate.
  • Maintain the care group risk register, risk log, and CAF, and initiate investigations of complaints, liaising with appropriate team members and preparing written documentation, including action plans.

  • Essential:
    • Patient-focused approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
    • Proven experience in governance, risk management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of healthcare governance principles and practices.
  • Desirable:
    • Project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
    • Root cause analysis experience, with a strong understanding of analytical techniques and tools.
