About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Church of England as a Housing Support Officer, where you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality housing service to our clergy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Delivery: Provide a tailored service to meet the needs of our clergy, responding promptly to inquiries and resolving housing-related issues.
  • Lettings and Management: Proactively manage the letting process for vacant housing, overseeing the work of lettings agents and Property Guardians, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Manage the repairs process, ensuring that contractors adhere to schedules and deliver high-quality work, while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Utility Management: Assist with setting up and managing utility bills, ensuring timely payments and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Financial Management: Manage relevant budget lines, ensuring effective use of resources and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement mechanisms to monitor and improve performance, setting high standards and expectations for the Clergy Housing service.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with statutory and health and safety requirements, and provide management information to the Clergy Housing Committee.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with current best practice, undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and sharing knowledge with the team.
About You

We are looking for a highly organized and proactive individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You will have experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of housing management and maintenance practices.

As a Housing Support Officer, you will be part of a small, dedicated team, working closely with colleagues to deliver a high-quality service to our clergy.
