Housing and Community Officer Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Housing and Community Officer to join our team at Service Care Solutions - Housing. As a key member of our housing management team, you will play a vital role in shaping a thriving community and making a real difference to residents' lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Tenancy Support: Offer advice on tenancy matters, welfare benefits, and rehousing requests to ensure residents receive the support they need to sustain their tenancies.
  • Assist with Housing Needs: Help tenants with support needs to maintain their tenancies and provide assistance with void turnaround targets and the lettings process.
  • Manage Allocations: Assess housing applicants and manage allocations in line with the Lettings Policy to ensure fair and efficient housing services.
  • Enforce Tenancy Conditions: Work with the Housing Management team to resolve tenant disputes and enforce tenancy conditions, including taking legal action when necessary.
  • Conduct Estate Inspections: Monitor repairs and liaise with colleagues to improve the environment and promote tenant engagement in service delivery and decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Experience and Skills: Experience in a housing management role or knowledge of tenancy law is advantageous, but not essential. Strong planning and organisational skills, excellent communication and customer service experience, and a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the community are essential.
