Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team at Huntress. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our company by performing a range of accounting and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Transactions: Process and allocate customer payments, manage bank postings and reconciliations, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping: Prepare and review monthly accounts, including prepayments, accruals, journals, and closing the month in Sage.
  • Credit Control: Monitor and manage customer credit, including credit checking and credit control.
  • Payroll and HMRC: Process monthly payroll and submit to HMRC and pension provider.
  • Financial Analysis: Monitor cash flow and provide regular financial reports to the Director.
  • VAT and Year-End Accounts: Prepare quarterly VAT returns and assist with year-end accounts as required.
  • Order Processing and Customer Service: Process orders, collect payments, send invoices and statements, and respond to customer queries.
  • Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers, monitor cost prices, order stock, and allocate delivery notes.
  • Administrative Tasks: Ensure company paperwork and certifications are up to date, including staff training, and approve and monitor staff sickness and holiday.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in bookkeeping and bank reconciliations.
  • Qualifications: Minimum AAT 2 qualification or equivalent.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in Sage Line 50.
  • Confidence: Confident to handle daily accounts duties independently.
