We are looking to hire nine social video journalists to enhance our content strategy and ensure that audience engagement remains at the forefront of our operations.

At Reach PLC, you will not only transform the major stories of the day into engaging video content but also play a crucial role in shaping the narratives we choose to highlight. We celebrate innovative ideas and unique perspectives.

This position allows for flexible working arrangements, with opportunities to work from home and collaborate with our London Hub.

Role Overview

About the Position:

As a Social Video Journalist at Reach PLC, we seek an individual with a unique flair. You will be tasked with producing high-quality, shareable video content that connects with our audience across various social media platforms. A keen eye for news, an understanding of social media trends, and the ability to craft compelling visual stories are essential.

You will analyze your work through data insights, understanding audience engagement, and identifying opportunities for our brands to reach new demographics with exceptional content.

In this role, you will collaborate with editors daily to pinpoint the stories we should be showcasing on video, focusing on expansion into new areas and identifying fresh topics for reporting across all platforms. We encourage you to think creatively and approach storytelling from different angles.

This role may require weekend and evening work, so a flexible approach is essential.

Candidate Profile

About You:

We are seeking candidates who excel at creating outstanding video content for social media channels, ideally within news organizations. You should be comfortable in front of the camera as well as skilled in editing and production. A thorough understanding of social media platforms and their algorithms is crucial, along with a willingness to experiment with new tools, including AI. An NCTJ qualification or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
