Lead Clinical Pharmacist – Emergency Care

Position Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a proactive and innovative individual with a strong clinical background in emergency care to become a vital member of our Pharmacy team. This role is situated within the dynamic environment of our healthcare facilities, focusing on delivering exceptional pharmaceutical services.
The successful candidate will assume the responsibilities of the Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Emergency Care, ensuring the provision of patient-centered, high-quality pharmaceutical care. This position encompasses the Emergency Department, Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit, and acute medicine, aimed at optimizing medication use and ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness. As a key player in the Trust's emergency care team, you will contribute to pharmaceutical governance, medication safety, information dissemination, financial oversight, education, and training, alongside medication optimization support for both the team and patients.

Key Responsibilities
The Lead Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients within the Emergency Department, SDEC Unit, and acute medicine areas, ensuring the safe, effective, and economical use of medications. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care.
In this role, you will support the management of the professional, clinical, and technical aspects of pharmacy services within the Acute and Emergency Medicine directorate. You will work in partnership with Highly Specialist Pharmacists to enhance the quality of care provided.
