Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the Surgical Services Care Group, specifically in the Plastic and Breast directorate. We are seeking a dedicated individual to assume the role of Patient Pathway Manager, focusing on the leadership, support, and coordination of our teams in managing patient pathways, alongside the development of training materials and competency frameworks to enhance data integrity.

The successful candidate will directly assist the Directorate Service/Service Manager in guiding a team that specializes in pathway management for patients with extended wait times, as well as overseeing training coordination throughout the entire Care Group. Collaborating with Service Coordinators, the individual will ensure that administrative staff have access to comprehensive development resources and competency frameworks in critical areas of data integrity, including 18-week RTT and patient pathway validation.

Key Responsibilities

The Patient Pathway Manager will serve as the primary authority on data integrity and pathway management, providing training to both seasoned and new team members to uphold high standards of data quality and foster a culture of patient safety. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting quality assurance checks on validations performed by the data quality and 18-week validation teams across the Care Group.
  • Identifying and reporting potential training gaps and formulating strategies to enhance performance.

Contractual Information

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract basis for a duration of 12 months, due to its involvement in organizational restructuring. The status of the fixed-term contract will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding such contracts and organizational changes.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Further academic qualifications.

Essential Experience:

  • Significant experience in administration and coordination.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience in report preparation utilizing data.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Familiarity with email and word processing software.
  • Experience in patient tracking.
  • Experience working with national targets, including RTT and Cancer Pathways.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated IT literacy and keyboard skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
  • Experience in staff training.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in a relevant NHS role.
  • Experience in a leadership or coaching capacity.
