About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Manager to join our team at St Luke's Hospice. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and clinical expertise to our Allied Health Professionals (AHP) services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the AHP teams, ensuring high-quality patient-centered care and services.
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies to optimize care and services, working closely with the Executive Team and other clinical leads.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local guidelines, standards, and regulations, including those related to patient safety and quality of care.
  • Investigate complaints, incidents, and patient feedback, and implement action plans to improve care and services.
  • Represent St Luke's at partner provider and commissioner meetings, engaging with stakeholders to influence quality and effective pathways of care.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the development, implementation, and review of standards, policies, competencies, and clinical guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Quality and Risk Lead to ensure services meet patient needs and national standards of care.
  • Apply expert analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure care is innovative, contemporaneous, and clinically effective.
Person Specification
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or other professional body.
  • Training to a minimum degree level.
  • Rich and varied experience at a senior management level within a clinical team in different settings.
  • Experience of contributing to mentoring, training, and education of professional staff.
  • Experience of effective line management and supervision of multiple teams.
  • Experience of managing staffing to ensure appropriate workloads, skills mix, and rotas.
  • Experience of providing high-quality patient care and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Experience of effectively and successfully managing resources (financial, physical, and human).
  • Experience of working with a range of professionals across differing organizations and boundaries.
  • Experience of implementing and using clinical governance systems.
  • Experience of managing change.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of participating in or undertaking audit and research, including identification of service improvements.
