Residential Care Worker

Join SuperCare Residential as a Residential Care Worker and make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in helping them become more independent, succeed in their education, and grow personally through various enjoyable activities in a safe environment.
Main Responsibilities:- Direct work with young people, key working, and providing day-to-day care and support on a shift work basis.
- Collaborate with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure everyone's needs are addressed.
- Co-ordinate, monitor, and review Care Plans for allocated young people preparing to make the transition to adulthood and greater independence.
- Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, ensuring health and safety, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
- Administrative work and record keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
- Ensure young people carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can reasonably and demonstrably be expected to carry.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report them effectively.
- Share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House.
- Care for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
- Be accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes.
- Report repairs and ensure necessary actions are taken.
- Act as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
- Keep abreast of good practice to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
- Make use of regular professional supervision.
- Report to a line manager or other appropriate person, any malpractice or evidence suggesting it.
- Experience of working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
- Level 3 CYPW or above (or currently working towards a Level 3 Diploma for the children and young people workforce).
- Enhanced DBS Check, and on the update service.
- Ability to drive.
- Smart and agile to handle the daily needs and activities of the young people.
- In-house promotion.
