Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Join SuperCare Residential as a Residential Support Worker and make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. In this role, you'll help them become more independent, succeed in their education, and grow personally through various enjoyable activities in a safe environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Direct work with young people, key working, and providing day-to-day care and support on a shift work basis.
  • Collaborate with young people, their families, social workers, and other organizations to ensure everyone's needs are addressed.
  • Co-ordinate, monitor, and review Care Plans for allocated young people preparing to transition to adulthood and greater independence.
  • Take responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment, ensuring health and safety, and making autonomous decisions about individual young people's requests and behavior.
  • Administrative work and record-keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home.
  • Support young people in taking responsibility for their own lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, and involving them in planning their lives.
  • Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and report them effectively.
Household Responsibilities:
  • Share in the practical activities necessary to maintain the House.
  • Care for the fabric, equipment, and overall environment.
  • Be accountable for moneys allocated for specific purposes.
  • Report repairs and ensure necessary actions are taken.
Personal:
  • Act as a role model and guide for young people, setting principles and examples.
  • Keep abreast of good practice to develop skills, knowledge, and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
  • Make use of regular professional supervision.
  • Report to a line manager or other appropriate person, any malpractice or evidence suggesting it.
Requirements:
  • Legally allowed to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • Experience of working with children/young people in an Ofsted environment.
  • Level 3 Diploma or above (or currently working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care).
  • Enhanced DBS Check, and on the update service.
  • Ability to drive with a full and clean license.
  • Smart and agile to handle the daily needs and activities of the young people.
