Job Overview

The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering expert knowledge, training, and support across all facets of primary care clinical systems. This role encompasses data integrity, clinical coding, data analysis, and assisting the Integrated Care Board (ICB) with digital initiatives. The individual will serve as the primary contact for healthcare staff seeking assistance with clinical systems, including Registration Authority support.

In this position, the post holder will independently manage their workload under the supervision of the ICB, ensuring all responsibilities are met effectively. The role embraces flexible working arrangements, necessitating regular visits to various healthcare practices.

Main Responsibilities

· Collaborate with teams to ensure effective planning, management, and delivery of projects.

· Provide high-quality support, including complex information analysis and stakeholder management, to facilitate resource targeting and project evaluation.

· Maintain clear communication and coordination with diverse organizations and individuals, drafting correspondence and managing specific tasks.

· Act as a vital team member, fostering effective communication and stakeholder engagement both internally and externally.

· Ensure that clinical systems align with the operational and clinical needs of the ICB and its member GP practices.

· Serve as the Information Management & Technology (IM&T) Specialist for clinical system support, addressing basic IT queries and facilitating data quality analysis for the ICB.

· Administer local reference files to ensure the system's integrity.

The role demands strong motivational and performance management skills to effectively communicate objectives and present technical issues to non-technical audiences.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

Establish and maintain constructive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including member GP practices.

The post holder will facilitate the effective utilization of primary care IT systems such as Emis and SystmOne, primarily collaborating with ICBs, GPs, and general practice staff.

· Engage in relevant internal and external projects, providing analytical advice and support.

· Collaborate with team members and GP practices to develop and implement data collection systems for accurate and timely information.

· Ensure system reference files are updated to reflect changes in clinical systems and support practices effectively.

· Monitor service functionality, focusing on data quality, availability, and accuracy.

· Coordinate data quality initiatives to ensure integrity and facilitate appropriate changes in working practices.

· Advise on best practices regarding information technology use in General Practice.

· Produce action plans to address data quality issues and conduct complex analyses of GP systems.

· Work with end users to maximize the effective use of systems through training and awareness sessions.

· Investigate information requirements and advise practices on data retrieval methods for clinical audits.

· Stay updated on Data Quality methodologies and Health Informatics developments.

· Plan and deliver training for ICBs, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

· Contribute to the development of new functionalities and carry out system testing.

· Ensure compliance with IM&T policies, supporting the development of relevant policies.

Person Specification

Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of EMIS or TPP SystmOne.
  • Experience in delivering training and understanding the importance of data quality.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or within Primary Care.
  • Proficient in Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong understanding of person-based clinical systems and the significance of quality information.
