Job Overview

The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering expert knowledge, training, and troubleshooting across all facets of primary care clinical systems. This role encompasses aspects of data integrity and clinical coding, as well as the analysis and interpretation of data, while supporting the Integrated Care Board (ICB) with digital initiatives. The individual will serve as the primary contact for primary care personnel seeking assistance with clinical systems, including Registration Authority support.

Managing their own workload under the supervision of the ICB, the post holder will ensure that the responsibilities of the role are met. The position embraces agile working, necessitating regular visits to various practices. Although employed by the Commissioning Support Unit (CSU), the post holder will be integrated within the Birmingham and Solihull ICB.

The Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit values the contributions of serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families, and encourages applications from individuals within the armed forces community.

Main Responsibilities

· Facilitate effective project management and delivery across various tasks and initiatives.

· Provide high-quality support, including complex information analysis, stakeholder management, and communication strategies.

· Act as a key team member, fostering effective communication and stakeholder engagement both internally and externally.

· Ensure that clinical systems align with the operational, clinical, and business needs of the ICB and its member GP practices.

· Serve as the Information Management & Technology (IM&T) Specialist for clinical system support, handling RA Smart Card functions, basic IT inquiries, and assisting practices with data quality and system user support.

· Provide systems administration to maintain accurate local reference files.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

Establish and maintain constructive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including member GP practices.

The post holder will facilitate the effective utilization of primary care IT systems, such as Emis and SystmOne, primarily collaborating with ICBs, GPs, and general practice staff.

· Engage in relevant internal and external working groups and initiatives, providing analytical advice and information to support complex projects.

· Collaborate with team members and GP practices to develop and implement data collection systems that yield accurate and timely information.

· Support the systems administration function by ensuring that system reference files are current and reflect changes in clinical systems.

· Continuously monitor service functionality, focusing on data quality, availability, and accuracy.

· Coordinate data quality initiatives to ensure data integrity and enable informed decision-making.

· Investigate information technology practices in General Practice, advising on best practices and facilitating compliance with relevant legislation.

· Develop action plans to address identified data quality issues and conduct thorough analyses of GP systems.

· Work with end users to optimize system usage through training and awareness sessions, enhancing IT skills among GP practice staff.

· Liaise with analysis services to extract and provide quality clinical data to practices and ICBs.

· Stay informed about developments in Data Quality methodology and Health Informatics, providing support to practices as needed.

· Plan and deliver training for ICBs, creating relevant training materials and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
