Position Overview

The Children and Young People's Services in the region have been bolstered with additional funding aimed at enhancing the support provided. Consequently, we are pleased to announce several new opportunities to expand our workforce and Multi-Disciplinary Teams.

The Team Manager for the Mental Health Learning Disability and Intensive Support Teams within CAMHS, locally recognized as BeeU, will oversee the team dedicated to assisting Children and Young People aged 5-18 with Learning Disabilities or Autism across the area.

In this role, you will hold daily accountability for the operational oversight and execution of the Learning Disability and Intensive Support Team across the designated regions. Your focus will be on ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service within this specialized domain while adhering to all National and Trust standards and targets, including accurate information recording within IT systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in and facilitate the development of policies, procedures, and operational practices within the team.
  • Collaborate with the Service Lead and clinical team in the strategic planning and execution of services.
  • Ensure compliance with all Trust policies and guidelines, providing direction to clinical staff on implementation.
  • Support the local execution and development of National strategies, initiating changes and advancements in practice.
  • Manage the designated team effectively.
  • Maintain the achievement of Key Performance Indicators and Quality Standards.
  • Oversee day-to-day line management of staff within the service, including managing attendance, performance, recruitment, and appraisals.
  • Promote, develop, implement, and manage clinical standards and best practices within your area of responsibility.
  • Be a visible and consistent presence within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain transparency and accountability to service users and caregivers, fostering a positive approach to person-centered care.
  • Ensure adherence to established policies and processes.
  • Implement safeguarding policies and procedures effectively.
  • Contribute to the clinical delivery of services.
  • Provide appropriate guidance to team members, multi-disciplinary groups, and Management Teams.
  • Monitor and assess practices based on contemporary trends, initiating changes as necessary.

Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • First-level professional qualification in nursing, midwifery, or allied health professions with the relevant governing body.

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in Neurodevelopmental Assessment or Child and Young People's Mental Health.
  • Training in ADOS / ADIR or similar methodologies.

Experience

Essential

  • Clinical experience in a Child and Young People's Neurodevelopmental or CAMHS setting.

Desirable

  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and direct line management experience, including familiarity with systems such as healthroster.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Advanced clinical skills in assessing, treating, and managing patients (preferably children) with Autism and/or ADHD.
  • Demonstrable management and supervision capabilities.
