About This Role

As a CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Practitioner, you'll play a vital role in providing specialized therapeutic support to Children & Young People (CYP) and their families dealing with eating disorders. You'll be an integral part of the YP-CED Multi-Disciplinary Team, delivering evidence-based interventions tailored to each individual's needs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a range of therapeutic interventions, including one-to-one sessions, family therapy, and group work, to support CYP in their recovery journey from eating disorders.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop effective pathways for care and share best practices within the wider young people's mental health service (BEEU).
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as General Practice, schools, colleges, paediatric services, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care planning for each CYP.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and provide appropriate interventions aligned with NICE guidance for Eating Disorders.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with eating disorders, recognizing potential co-morbidities within the community setting.
  • Lead clinical case meetings, safeguarding reviews, TAC (Therapeutic Assessment Centre) meetings, Early Help discussions, and CPA (Care Programme Approach) reviews to advocate for the needs of CYP and their families/carers.
