At EMIS, we are seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to become a vital part of our Commercial Finance division on a permanent basis.

In this role, you will report directly to the Head of Finance – Projects, and you will play a crucial role within the commercial finance team, collaborating closely with our sales, commercial, and operational departments.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in a diverse commercial finance function, primarily focusing on delivering financial and commercial insights on bids, tenders, contracts, and pricing for our framework-related agreements. Additionally, you will assist with various ad-hoc commercial evaluations and corporate initiatives as needed, while also providing support to the finance team during peak periods, such as month-end processes.

The role involves a hybrid working model, with one day in the office and the remainder from home.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a dynamic, end-to-end commercial finance position where you will be tasked with offering proactive financial support to our operations, commercial, and sales teams throughout the bidding, contracting, and pricing processes.

As a Commercial Finance Manager, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, providing essential revenue and profitability analyses, conducting sensitivity assessments, and identifying financial risks and opportunities to foster positive outcomes.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing contracts and frameworks, analyzing financial terms, and identifying potential risks related to invoicing, payments, liabilities, and penalties.
  • Supporting comprehensive reviews of various financial business processes and recommending enhancements for efficiency.
  • Preparing diverse commercial appraisals.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc corporate projects.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced finance professional, either a qualified accountant or at an advanced stage of qualification. With a commercial perspective, you possess an inquisitive nature when analyzing data or contracts.

Building collaborative relationships within EMIS is essential, as you will interact with non-financial colleagues while providing forecasting and detailed financial modeling reports.

In our fast-paced environment, the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change is crucial.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Exceptional analytical abilities and attention to detail, with a capacity to understand the broader context.
  • Experience in commercial finance, with in-depth knowledge of pricing strategies and contract management.
  • Proficiency in conducting commercial appraisals.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with complex modeling.
  • Qualified accountant (ACMA/ACA/ACCA) or nearing qualification.
