Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital Full time

Position Overview

We are thrilled to present a remarkable opportunity for career advancement within the General Radiography Department at the Norfolk & Norwich University NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH). Our Radiology Department holds accreditation from QSI (Quality Standards in Imaging), ensuring a commitment to excellence.

In alignment with our Trust's core values of PRIDE, we are on the lookout for driven individuals to join our vibrant and supportive team. Candidates will play a vital role in delivering exceptional imaging services to all patients, prioritizing clinical safety and maintaining a high standard of patient care. The role demands a flexible and enthusiastic Medical Imaging Specialist who is ready to collaborate within a team providing round-the-clock care, managing daily workflows, staff, and patient interactions. Additionally, successful candidates will take on responsibilities such as conducting appraisals, investigating incidents, performing audits, overseeing health and safety protocols, mentoring new team members and students, and fulfilling governance duties.

Our Radiology Department is equipped with nine general DR rooms, including three located in a bustling emergency department. We also support a diverse and active theatre program, encompassing a wide range of specialties including urology, general surgery, orthopaedics, spinal procedures, pain management, and paediatrics.

Key Responsibilities

A new paediatric theatre complex has recently been inaugurated, and the Norfolk and Norwich Orthopaedic Centre (NANOC) has been established to enhance our service offerings. Recruitment for this position will bolster our capacity to support additional screening lists in the NANOC facility. Furthermore, the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is currently in development, set to launch in the near future, which will significantly expand our capabilities in General Radiography, MRI, CT, and Ultrasound. This expansion will not only increase our operational capacity but also create further training opportunities for our staff.

We also engage in dental imaging, support the Fluoroscopy Department, and have a dedicated team of Reporting Radiographers specializing in musculoskeletal, chest, and abdominal imaging. Our Cromer Hospital, located along the picturesque North Norfolk coast, features an additional two DR rooms that cater to a busy Minor Injuries Unit, general practitioners, and various clinics, alongside a procedure room equipped with its own image intensifier for pain management procedures.

Work Schedule

We offer both full-time and part-time positions, with shifts comprising a mix of long and short days. Flexibility is essential, as the role includes weekday, weekend, and out-of-hours duties (including nights) across the NNUH Trust and Cromer District Hospital. Our operations span a seven-day work week, necessitating night, weekend, and holiday scheduling. We also provide flexible working arrangements to accommodate our staff's needs.
