About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiology Consultant to join our team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. As a Locum Consultant Cardiologist, you will play a key role in supporting the provision of pacing services in Norfolk and Waveney, and undertake on-call duties in general cardiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mutual cover for annual, study and professional leave for weekday cover, and assist with cross-cover of the pacing service.
  • Offer consultation and advisory services to medical colleagues in other specialties within the Trust.
  • Liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in regular clinical meetings and post-graduate activities.
  • Contribute to the teaching and audit activities of the department, including bedside teaching and seminars.
  • Attend weekly MDT meetings with cardiothoracic colleagues at Papworth, monthly Directorate and clinical governance meetings, and subspecialty MDT.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Full GMC with Licence to Practice and entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Independent Pacing and Complex Pacing operator.
  • Experience in subcutaneous ICD and leadless pacing, and additional training in heart failure, imaging or electrophysiology.
  • Applicants from other European countries or overseas must show equivalence to the 5 years training period in the National Health Service required for the specialty.
