Position Overview

We are seeking applications for a full-time Pediatric Imaging Consultant within the Radiology Department at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Our department is part of a leading University Teaching Hospital, renowned for its excellence in patient care, research initiatives, and educational programs.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role encompass the interpretation of pediatric imaging studies, including ultrasound and fluoroscopy. The successful candidate will also engage in specialized pediatric on-call duties and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings. Flexibility in scheduling and a willingness to accommodate extended working hours are advantageous.

A full GMC registration with a license to practice is mandatory upon application.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or equivalent.
  • Accreditation in Clinical Radiology and registration on the specialist register, or eligibility within six months of the Advisory Appointment Committee.
  • Full GMC registration.

Desirable Criteria

  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS).

  • Understanding of the role of research in clinical practice.

Desirable Experience

  • Completion of a specialist fellowship.
  • Additional area of specialist interest.
  • Experience in research or published works in a relevant field.

Working Conditions

Essential Conditions

  • A flexible approach to working hours.
  • Must reside within a 15-mile radius of the base trust or within a 30-minute commute.
  • Valid driving license.

Communication and Language Proficiency

Essential Proficiency

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues and support staff across the organization.
  • Proficiency in presenting information to an audience using various methods and addressing questions and inquiries.

Desirable Proficiency

  • Strong presentation skills.
