Position Overview

We are excited to announce a vacancy for a Band 2 Imaging Services Support Specialist within the Radiology Departments of our esteemed healthcare institution. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of diagnostic imaging services, providing essential support to our dedicated team.

The Imaging Services department is an integral part of our Diagnostic and Clinical Support Services division, delivering high-quality imaging and therapeutic interventions across various medical specialties.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in a rotational schedule throughout the department, encompassing various imaging modalities such as MRI, CT, Plain Film, Ultrasound, and Antenatal Ultrasound. This position requires flexibility, as shifts will be assigned at multiple locations within our healthcare network.

Key Duties Include:

  1. Assisting in the preparation of patients for imaging examinations, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  2. Supporting Radiographers in positioning patients accurately for various imaging procedures.
  3. Aiding in interventional procedures and maintaining a sterile environment.
  4. Upholding patient confidentiality and demonstrating empathy towards individuals undergoing examinations.
  5. Contributing to the delivery of exceptional patient care, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.

Work Environment

This role demands a commitment to providing compassionate care, with an emphasis on effective communication skills to assist patients who may be anxious or in distress. The post holder will be expected to work independently on certain tasks while collaborating closely with qualified staff.
