As a Lead Emergency Nurse, you will have the chance to refine your leadership capabilities, overseeing a junior team and engaging in organizational development and performance management. A tailored development program is being established, providing you with the opportunity to train and collaborate with experts in change management, thereby expanding your professional experience.

Salisbury Foundation Trust caters to a predominantly rural demographic and is recognized as a designated Trauma Unit, boasting a successful history in managing major incidents. This role offers a diverse and challenging patient caseload, with approximately 50,000 patients visiting annually.

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate advanced expertise in emergency nursing, translating this knowledge into effective clinical practice. You should be a collaborative team member with proven leadership skills, exhibiting energy, proactivity, and a commitment to your professional growth and that of your colleagues.

In partnership with the ED Matron, you will manage and lead the nursing team, working closely with the Lead Clinician and ED Service Manager, as well as the broader ED Senior team, to continuously enhance and develop the service.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing, with at least 2 years in a Band 6 role.
  • Proven experience in team leadership.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or equivalent experience.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or equivalent.
  • Teaching and assessing qualification.

Desirable:

  • Master's degree.
  • Management qualification.
