Deputy Clinical Nurse Specialist in Interventional Radiology

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well-established Interventional Radiology CNS team, as a Deputy Clinical Nurse Specialist.
We are seeking a highly-motivated nurse to be part of a multi-disciplinary team who will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in this specialty.
We treat adults and children across three sites.
Main Duties of the JobThe successful candidate will be involved with outpatient clinics, virtual clinics, pre-assessment, MDT clinics, as well as assisting with complex discharges, bleep holding, and scheduling lists.
They will act as a resource of expert advice for other healthcare professionals and must be competent to deliver health promotion and education.
Working for Our OrganisationThe Lifelong IR service is a specialist Interventional Radiology network hosted by Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
The specialist network spans a large geography covering areas within London, South East, and East of England.
Detailed Job Description and Main ResponsibilitiesThis role is a development opportunity to learn the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Interventional Radiology department.
As a development role, the successful candidate will be allocated a mentor and will be supported to achieve the required competencies for the role.
This role is based within a well-established team and involves good communication skills as well as specialist knowledge in cardiology.
Advocating for patients and working within a large MDT is very important in this role.
Person SpecificationSkills- Good communication skills and ability to deal with sensitive information.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specialist care delivered to patients/clients and give relevant advice/information to patients and relatives.
- Up-to-date with current clinical and professional issues within the specialty.
- Demonstrates specialist expertise underpinned by theory.
- Demonstrates Trust Values and Behaviours.
- Previous post-registration experience within the relevant specialty.
- Experience of teaching/assessing/supervising others in a clinical setting.
- Experienced and competent in managing patients within the specialty.
- BSC/1st degree (health-related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
- Post-registration specialist course relevant to the area.
- Mentorship Course.
- Evidence of professional/clinical knowledge in the area supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training, and CPD.
- RN1/RN2/RN12 or RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC register.
